antenna tower

antenna towerEnergy efficiency is increasingly important for wireless communications and networks. The project aims at developing a comprehensive theoretical framework as well as pioneering technologies for energy-efficient designs of different types of wireless networks such as mobile cellular systems, ad hoc networks, etc. The project will build a thorough understanding of the relations between the energy efficiency, spectral efficiency and various implementation aspects. e.g. network resource management, electronic design and the properties of protocol stacks for various networks.

The KTH School of Information and Communication Technology is now looking for PhD student in the above area. The position is with the Radio Systems Laboratory at the Department of Communication Systems(CoS) at Electrum, Kista.  The position is envisage to start in August och September 2012 and the application deadline is May 7th.

educationResearchers at KTH and collaborating institutions are invited to submit proposals for funding of small projects within the scope of the new research program of Wireless@KTH.  The research areas addressed are:

  • Low cost, energy efficient, high capacity wireless infrastructure
  • Scalable mobile services
  • Large scale, wireless networked M2M systems and services

The focus of this call is on “seed projects” with participation  of new/potential SME partners. Projects that have the potential to lead to future Wireless@KTH-projects in cooperation between industry partners of the center are also of interest.

Deadline Extension:  Due to the holidays, proposals should be received not later than  Wednesday May 2nd 12.00
