antenna towerEnergy efficiency is increasingly important for wireless communications and networks. The project aims at developing a comprehensive theoretical framework as well as pioneering technologies for energy-efficient designs of different types of wireless networks such as mobile cellular systems, ad hoc networks, etc. The project will build a thorough understanding of the relations between the energy efficiency, spectral efficiency and various implementation aspects. e.g. network resource management, electronic design and the properties of protocol stacks for various networks.

The KTH School of Information and Communication Technology is now looking for PhD student in the above area. The position is with the Radio Systems Laboratory at the Department of Communication Systems(CoS) at Electrum, Kista.  The position is envisage to start in August och September 2012 and the application deadline is May 7th.
