In order to design and analyze technical systems in a market and business context there is an increasing need to use techno-economic approaches. Technical aspects like network architecture, functionality, performance, capacity and cost are combined with market related aspects like regulation, business and revenue models, distribution of functionality and the value offered to end-users and service providers. The PhD student will contribute to the development of a tele-economic framework for the design and analysis of wireless infrastructure systems. This will then be applied in areas like deployment of high capacity-low cost mobile broadband systems, indoor and local area wireless Internet access and systems for machine-to machine communication.

The KTH School of Information and Communication Technology is now looking for PhD student in the above area. The position is with the Radio Systems Laboratory at the Department of Communication Systems(CoS) at Electrum, Kista.  The position is envisage to start in the fall of 2012 and the application deadline is Aug 13th.
