If you plan to submit a paper to the workshop on Green broadband access att ICC 2013 in Budapest, June 9-13 2013, remember that the deadline is January 10 2013!
About the workshop:
Common predictions show that by the year 2015 the traffic traversing the access segment will be 25-30 times larger than today. Extrapolating this trend to 2020 would yield a thousand-fold increase in traffic.
Meeting this demand, with today’s wireless and fixed broadband access solutions, would lead to an unacceptable increase in the network power consumption. For this reason, finding a way to lower the energy consumption of the access segment is a problem whose solution is of the outmost importance as we speak.
This workshop aims at creating a forum where experts from both academia and industry will have an opportunity to present and discuss the latest advances in the field of green broadband access networks where both wired and wireless access solutions will be covered.
