In Northern Scandinavia industries related to forestry, mining, energy and tourism are facing growth. The goal of the approved project is to build a constellation of partners and develop mature ideas on how to enable necessary M2M and voice connectivtity in remote and rural areas to support this upcoming business. The consortium is expected to grow, initially it includes Wireless@kth, MSB, Skogforsk, SCA, Cloudberry and Net1. The project will be co-ordinated by KTH, including Amirhossein Ghanbari, Jan Markendahl, Claes Beckman and Mats Nilson in the team. The project will start activities early June and conclude in the beginning of 2015. Note: UDI stands for “Demand Driven Innovation”.
Call for papers for “2nd Workshop on Green Broadband Access: Energy efficient wireless and wired network solutions” (http://wireless.kth.se/gba2014/) is now open. The workshop is organized in collaboration with EIT-ICT Labs project 5GrEEn – Towards Green 5G Mobile Networks.
The workshop will be co-located with IEEE Globecom 2014 (http://www.ieee-globecom.org/), December 8-12, 2014, in Austin, TX, USA.
The submission deadline is July 15 2014.
