Bluetest AB, www.bluetest.se with HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden, was in 2008 the first wireless testing company in the world to do repeatable and accurate Over-The-Air (OTA) Multiple-Input Multiple Output (MIMO) 802.11n (WiFi) throughput tests. In 2009 Bluetest did the first ever 4G MIMO OTA throughput tests. In 2013 Bluetest pioneered OTA testing of Carrier Aggregation (CA) for LTE-A and performed in 2016 the world’s first 2 Component Carrier (CC) 4 x 4 MIMO tests. At present Bluetest is exploring new test solutions for 5G. Multi-antenna terminals and base stations are expected to be key 5G technologies to achieve e.g. very high throughput, ultra-reliable connections and very low energy IoT communications. This talk will give a brief background of Bluetest’s revolutionary test technology (reverberation chamber) and focus on how it can be used to quickly improve the performance of today’s (4G, 802.11ac, BT) and future (5G) wireless products as e.g. mobile phones, routers, small and large IoT and M2M devices as well as multi-antenna micro and macro base stations. Bluetest’s customers are the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world, many of the largest mobile operators and wireless system integrators, but also companies developing antennas, wirelessly connected cameras, printers, game controllers, etc. More than 200 Bluetest reverberation test systems have been installed worldwide. The largest markets are China, Korea, USA, and Japan.
