Abstract:

What are the needs for Radio Communications in the railway environment for voice and M2M communications? What legislation must be fulfilled for rail interoperability and how will differences in legal approach in Europe between telecommunications and transport sector (rail) be handle.
How will the most expensive project in Trafikverket, the roll out of ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) influence the Radio systems for the railways (30 Billion SEK, during the next 20 years)

Today’s system is affected by the roll out of new technology’s in the 900 MHz frequency band by unwanted emissions and strong signals. What is done to make GSM-R to co-exist with UMTS and LTE. How will ERTMS evolve to new radio technologies? jonas lindh
