The presentation discusses emerging use case(s) and RAN Deployment Topologies in a context of RAN Evolution Requirements towards a 5G System.
Having been involved in the wireless industry since 1994, he has been active in several roles over the years including researcher, senior specialist in adaptive antenna signal processing, manager of a research group in antenna systems and propagation, expert in multi-antenna systems as well as responsible for wireless technical strategic planning. His current research interests involve all aspects of relevance for RAN migration and evolution towards 5G Systems, as such entailing both cost- and performance requirements as well as enabling RAN deployment topologies and RAN/BTS functionality allocations. He received his PhD in Array Signal Processing, in the Control Theory group, from Linköping University back in 1992; spent 1993 as a Research Associate at Yale University and started working at Ericsson (Research) in 1994. He is since 2011 with Huawei Technologies Sweden R&D AB, which is a 5G Wireless Innovation Center within Huawei.
