About the seminar:

The phenomenal growth of mobile client devices in combination with a mobile lifestyle where users expect to be connected at all times and use bandwidth hungry applications have made wireless lan the fastest growing networking technology. Todays fifth generation wifi radio technology allows for high density and business critical networks but a wireless lan infrastructure can also be used to provide location based services. LBS opens a whole new ecosystem of applications applicable to numerous verticals such as retail, healthcare, hospitality, education and others. New capabilities in device silicon have improved the accuracy of the “blue dot”, the user experience and the networks ability to provide relevant services. This session will explain the fundamentals of WLAN location based services, architecture, design, RF triangulation, best practises, analytics and application integration.

Peter Jerhamre is a Systems Engineer based in Stockholm Sweden. As a member of the Cisco mobility and wireless team in the Nordics, Peter has been involved in the design and implementation of a wide variety of wireless projects ranging  from underground mines, VoWLAN, healthcare , warehouses, outdoor Mesh, location tracking and large multinational enterprise wireless networks. Peter joined Cisco in April 2005 and has 25 years of solid networking background within routing/switching, wireless, ip vpn and WAN technologies.
